The Awards Committee is dedicated to overseeing the nomination and selection process for the prestigious chamber awards. This committee plays a crucial role in ensuring that award recipients are chosen through a fair, transparent, and ethical process, reflecting the core mission of the Central Texas Veteran Chamber of Commerce. By upholding these values, we celebrate the achievements of veteran-owned businesses and military-affiliated professionals, fostering a community of excellence and support.

Key Summary of the Committee

The Awards Committee shall:

- Develop award categories and establish selection criteria.

- Solicit and review nominations from chamber members and the public.

- Evaluate nominees based on predefined criteria and conduct an impartial selection process.

- Ensure confidentiality and fairness in all selection activities.

- Coordinate with event organizers to plan the award presentation.

- Report selection outcomes to the Chamber - Board for final approval.

Leadership

- Chairperson: Leads meetings, ensures adherence to the selection timeline, and reports to the Chamber Board.

- Vice-Chair: Assists the Chairperson and assumes duties in their absence.

- Administrative Support: Handles communication, documentation, and record-keeping.

Committee Members

- The committee shall consist of 3-7 members selected from chamber members in good standing.

- Members should represent diverse industries and business backgrounds.

- All members must commit to an unbiased and confidential review process.

- Veteran Leadership Excellence Award

- Nominations will be open to chamber members and the public.

- Self-nominations will be accepted with supporting references.


Nominees will be scored based on:

- Impact: Contribution to the business community or society.

- Innovation: unique strategies, products, or services.

- Leadership: Influence within their industry and community.

- Sustainability: Long-term impact and business growth potential.


- Committee members will independently review and score each nomination.

- A blind scoring system will be used to maintain fairness.

- Finalists will be selected based on aggregated scores.

- Winners will be presented to the Chamber - - Board for final approval.
